Spirytus Rektyfikowany, polish for Rectified Spirit, takes the number one spot for the strongest alcohol in the world for its ABV stands at about 96%. In November 2014, it has been reported that an Australian teenager has died on her 18th birthday from taking shots of the Rectified Spirit. The family of the teen later requested after her passing that the drink be banned from the country. Although it has been taken out of the shelf of some stores, the drink has not been banned from the country.
